We are a small, cozy tavern that serves Eastern European dishes, local and Russian beer, as well as Russian inspired cocktails.
What makes your business one of the best small businesses in your community?
We are one of the best small businesses in our community because we have come so far from where we and where our community started. We are two young women that have started this business without much more than a dream and persistence. Our tavern is located in a developing neighborhood north of Seattle, called Lake City, it is one of the most diverse neighborhoods, and as Seattle keeps quickly growing, it seems harder and harder to start a business without serious financial backing, which we didn't have. Every aspect of our bar, was done by us or with the help of close family and friends, late nights sanding tables and pasting wallpaper makes us even more excited to watch our little bar become a welcomed part of our new community. From hosting PTA fundraisers to live accordion music, we are a place for people to get together and feel like they are part of something.

Please describe the specific ways that your business has been successful and how it will grow in the next year.
Our 2017 sales were double the sales of our first year, 2016, and they are continuing to grow. We have been reinvesting most of the profit back into the business to grow our inventory and plan to expand to the space next door eventually.
