How has working with a SCORE mentor helped your business?
If it was not for Prince in your White Plains office, Chef El-Amin would not be where we are today! Prince spent several hours and weeks sitting down with us to help create our LLC and business structure. Our recent experience with SCORE was in DC during the HSN American Dreams Academy. The speakers helped my company realize that there are several resources that can help us create a business plan, help with marketing, packaging our product, review contracts and give law advise. SCORE has helped us realize that small businesses are a priority in helping to build and sustain the American economy.
Please describe the specific ways that your business has been successful and how it will grow in the next year.
In the past year, Chef El-Amin has been successful in the following ways: selected as the top 200 female founders out of over 2000 applicants for the UBS/Rent the Runway Project Entrepreneur Intensive in NYC, appeared on the Pulitzer Prize winning Karen Hunter Show on Sirius XM radio's global platform for "Wellness Wednesday" to discuss how Chef El-Amin is disrupting the ethnic and comfort food market with our healthier alternative to traditional soul food, selected as 1 of 125 top businesses to participate in the very first American Dreams Academy in partnership with SCORE. Our product line is set to be in Shoprite, on HSN, sold online and in major retailers in the next year.
