Physical & Sports Rehab
We specialize in physical therapy and sports rehabilitation. We provide clients with comprehensive, individualized, highly skilled therapy services for rehabilitation needs.
What makes your business one of the best small businesses in your community?
As our founder Paul Heath would say, “We treat others the way we want to be treated.” That statement alone is why we are one of the best small business in our community.
In 2011, we opened Physical & Sports Rehab, Inc., a physical therapy, rehabilitation, sports medicine clinic in Largo, MD. Since then, we have treated nearly 2500 patients. Our primary focus is educating patients so that they understand what their body is going through anatomically and physically.
Patients are so thankful to find us because we accept health insurances other physical therapy clinics do not. It is not just work for us. We make sure every patient can receive the same quality care that we provide.
The following responses will be considered in judging for a SCORE Award.
How has working with a SCORE mentor helped your business?
Toni Miles helped us by advising us to not grow too fast. When we were thinking of expanding early on, she wisely informed us to be sure we are using all of the square footage that we currently pay for. We were thinking of adding a sports training service to our physical therapy business and after some consideration, she advised us that perhaps we can start doing that work now to build up a clientele before we acquire additional space.
Please describe the specific ways that your business has been successful and how it will grow in the next year.
Our business has been profitable every year since we opened. We have consistently hired employees each year. We offer health insurance, match up to 3% on a retirement plan, and flexible schedules. We have treated over 2500 patients since we've been open.
In 2016, we were awarded Employer of the Year from Southern Prince George's Business & Professional Women, Inc. for having staff flexibility for school, ability to work from home, and largely female staff.
In the next year, we are planning to open the movement science center to meet a need in our community for sports medicine expertise.
