Business Description

We build and manage apartments. Our focus is to create a better way for our residents to live by creating a lifestyle of stunning apartments, memorable events, resident gifts, and helping others!

The following responses will be considered in judging for a SCORE Award.

How has working with a SCORE mentor helped your business?

We have learned from our SCORE mentor that we are not just renting apartments. Instead we provide a lifestyle for people. With our mentor's help, we are enhancing our business. We are improving community events to encourage more authentic relationships with neighbors. We are building more partnerships with local businesses so that our residents can enjoy everything our community has to offer. We are renovating our older apartments to have granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and luxury vinyl plank flooring. We are developing smart apartment technologies. By this spring, our first smart apartments will be available. With these efforts and help from our mentor we plan to provide people an improved lifestyle, not just an apartment.

Please describe the specific ways that your business has been successful and how it will grow in the next year.

In 2009, we owned 91 apartment units. By 2017, we owned 296 units. We have additional projects scheduled. By 2020, we expect to own 576 units. In the last two years we have grown from 14 full time equivalent employees to 26. Next year we plan to hire about 10 additional employees. Our average maintenance response time has dropped to below 24 hours. When residents call during the day, they speak directly to our staff on 95%+ of the time without waiting. We have an active customer feedback system that gets responses each week. Each week those comments are carefully addressed so that the problem experienced will never happen again to any customer now or in the future. We also have developed a strong leadership team to help move us forward.
