How has working with a SCORE mentor helped your business?

When we started with our SCORE mentors, we had an LLC and a dream. Over the last 4 years and over 45 visits, SCORE taught us how to think like business owners. We are learning how to separate our duties as clinician, manager, and entrepreneur. With guidance from our SCORE mentors, we have nearly doubled our revenue every year while also developing a great reputation in the community. We’ve grown from a company of 2 to over 20 employees. During our expansion, our mentors provided advice on planning, securing a line of credit, and opening our 2500 sq. ft facility. Our mentors remind us to appreciate the work we put into our business, help pick us up when we get discouraged and challenge us to meet tough goals that drive the business forward.

Please describe the specific ways that your business has been successful and how it will grow in the next year.

Our success can be measured by reaching every financial, client, and staff goal that we’ve set each year. We’ve nearly doubled our revenue every year, our staff has grown to over 20, and we have a steady increase of clients. We invest in our staff by paying 100% of health insurance for our full-time employees and offer paid trainings. By focusing on the needs of our clients we’ve become known as a caring, ethical, and effective practice. Our reputation and our results continue to propel us as the leading therapy practice in our community. We plan to open a second therapy facility in 2018 and build our PreK program. This expansion will enable us to grow, reach our revenue goals, and continue to better serve the special needs community.
