What one unique aspect of your business will make you succeed over the next year?

No Apologies Art Collective is passionate about people. This unique aspect will allow our business to succeed over the next year. The name "No Apologies" comes from the idea that you should never apologize for your art. We wanted to take it further and emphasize that people should never apologize for who they are. So many times we are told that we need to be different. We need to change. We need to apologize for the people that we are. We at No Apologies Art Collective believe in embracing the weird, wacky, outrageous, incredible people that we all are. We believe in living outside the box, instead of allowing ourselves to be boxed in. No Apologies Art Collective focuses on working with independent artists and using their original designs so that their voices can be heard. These artists are paid for the rights to use their work on our tees and they receive 5% of every shirt bearing their design that is sold. We believe in supporting our local community and economy by using shirts, totes, and hats that are made in the USA in sweatshop-free factories. We work with local screen printers, embroiderers, and family-owned businesses. We strive to give back by donating 15% of sales to charities that focus on Art Education, the Environment, Mental Health, and Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault survivors. No Apologies Art Collective is passionate about people and we work to ensure that is reflected in our products, our choices, and our voice.

How does your business make a positive impact on the community?

No Apologies Art Collective is committed to using materials that are made in the USA, created in sweatshop-free factories and empowering our local arts communities by working with independent artists and paying them a fair wage for their work. These artists retain all original rights to their artwork, are paid for the use of the image, and receive a portion of sales of t-shirts bearing their work. Furthermore, 15% of sales goes to local charities that are focus on Arts Education, Mental Health, the Environment, and Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault survivors. No Apologies Art Collective believes that artwork has the power to change the world and would like the opportunity do so with our incredible t-shirts and emphasis on philanthropy.

What would you do with a $1,000 Sam’s Club gift card, training, and help from a SCORE mentor to grow your business?

Training and help from a SCORE mentor along with a $1,000 Sam's Club gift card would allow us to focus and prioritize the growth of our business. As a small-business owner there are multiple options and opportunities when beginning the journey, it is easy to become overwhelmed. It would be immensely helpful to have a mentor help us to navigate and reach our full potential as a company. With the expertise of a SCORE mentor we would focus on marketing, community outreach, refining our products and improving our current operations. As first-time business owners we have a lot to learn and are excited at the prospect of having a seasoned instructor lead the way!
