What one unique aspect of your business will make you succeed over the next year?

I believe that it is an amazing blessing to be able to own a business. Of course there is an immense amount of work that goes into it, as well as time spent doing things other than what you may want to; but the freedom that comes with doing something you love and providing for those whom you love is what makes it all worth it. I sincerely believe this business will succeed over the next year due to the many relationships that are built with our customers, and the dedication that is put into this shop. Not only during business hours, but on weekends and many late nights. Our customers are friends, family, and even strangers. But we all have one thing in common. We all have families and we all work together to support one another in this community as our businesses, our farms, our lives depend upon the success of what we do and how we help those around us succeed as well. Not just because it puts food on the table but because we are built on the success and failures of the generations before us and it is now our turn to build the foundation for our children and those to come. It is the understanding that the things we are doing are needed services and blessings, and don't just effect us, but our neighbors, communities, friends, and family. That knowledge is why this business will succeed. Its not about living a lavish lifestyle. Its not about choosing the paycheck over the customer. Its about strengthening and building who we are, what we stand for and helping others in need.

How does your business make a positive impact on the community?

The goal of this business is to make enough money to raise a family and pay our bills, of course. However, as the other half of "Robinson Diesel" I have witnessed how Shane (the owner and mechanic) has impacted many around him with this business. He has worked many late nights well into early mornings to ensure a farmer has his equipment by morning. I have witnessed him lose money on jobs because he didn't charge as much as he should, when he knew the customer couldn't afford it. I have seen blood, sweat, and tears be poured into this business, with his clients put first. We work with those around us to ensure their farms, and lives are able to run smoothly by fixing their equipment and ensuring they can keep doing what needs to be done.

What would you do with a $1,000 Sam’s Club gift card, training, and help from a SCORE mentor to grow your business?

First off, it would be an incredible blessing to be chosen for this grant. Life has its moments & Shane has had many. Through the life of his business, he has buried two children, unexpectedly lost his father, cared for his mother, and selflessly taken on a single mother of 3. He's put his needs last every time. As a business owner of course there are hard months, & hard years. But he never complained. He continues to push through, work diligently, & serve his customers above and beyond. The Sam's club card would go towards supplies for the business, as well as much needed work attire, and a community barbeque to thank our customers as well as gain new business. The training would help us to succeed further in other areas of business.
