What one unique aspect of your business will make you succeed over the next year?
The books and patterns I have previously published is what is going to bring me success over the next year, with a few new patterns. The sharing of the star quilts I have collected over the years to include in 'Montana Star Quilts' is the what will continue to bring success.
How does your business make a positive impact on the community?
The collection of star quilts, a direct result of 'Montana Star Quilts' with the spiritual and ceremonial significance being part of Quilts on Main Street in East Helena which I host is bringing people into my small community. This has a direct impact on the other small businesses in East Helena, the quilt shop down the street as well as the few places to eat. The beauty and inspiration of the quilts brings people from all walks of life together, from far flung places. Other artists also participate and sell their work.
What would you do with a $1,000 Sam’s Club gift card, training, and help from a SCORE mentor to grow your business?
I would use it to help promote Quilts On Main Street the 3rd week end in August. Last summer we had between 300 and 500 people attend. this year I hope to get more Main Street people to hang quilts, the event is free to the public.
