Spratt Muscular Therapies
Innovative massage therapy practice
What one unique aspect of your business will make you succeed over the next year?
Jeffrey Spratt asked himself a critical question as a massage therapist: "What could I come up with that would change the massage therapy experience for a client and would value their time and money?” The ShakeOut(TM) Massage was born out of techniques used in chiropractic medicine, Jeffrey's work with athletes and his study of Eastern mind/body modalities. He discovered the importance of the need to get the whole body moving and quickly assessed from the moment the treatment begins. The cost? Only $2/minute The time? 10-25 minutes on the table. Techniques work through clothes and no product is used. You can take your lunch hour and be back energized before your boss even notices you’re gone. It’s the perfect solution for you to know that you DO have the time and money for regular massage. Stress in our lives builds and before we know it we are sick or injured. Regular massage therapy is the perfect antidote to living in today’s 24/7 technologically driven society. The ShakeOut(TM) Massage addresses acute pain and muscle spasms and the imbalances in the body that lead to pain and dysfunction. For endurance athletes it provides the ultimate in sports massage therapy. After a ShakeOut(TM) Massage, you feel relief, energized and rejuvenated. Because of its affordability, and efficiency, you can regularly enjoy all the benefits of a full body massage incorporating the positive cumulative effects of massage therapy into your health and wellness routine.
How does your business make a positive impact on the community?
Jeffrey and his team volunteer providing chair massage to Emergency Responders at health and wellness fairs and events throughout Massachusetts. As a leading member of Critical Incident Stress Management Teams in Massachusetts, Jeffrey provides his unique method of massage therapy to relieve on the job stress to Emergency Responders and is the Principal Investigator for a study, “The Efficacy of the Spratt Method of Muscular Therapy on Trauma Recovery.” The early results are promising for a new treatment modality to alleviate suffering from PTSD. Subjects receive free biweekly 60 minute massage therapy sessions. He donates gift certificates and event chair massage for fundraisers for charity organizations in the greater Boston area.
What would you do with a $1,000 Sam’s Club gift card, training, and help from a SCORE mentor to grow your business?
We would purchase fresh dry socks and other essentials to distribute to Emergency Responders after a critical incident with the Sam’s Club gift card. Training and help from A SCORE mentor would be instrumental in helping Spratt Muscular Therapies balance our community work and volunteerism with having a smart business model that would help our business to thrive and be sustainable to support our research and the volunteer work we are so passionate about.
