Business Description

We proactively manage computer networks and build technology tools for small-and-midsized business clients and government customers, so they can focus on accomplishing their mission.

How does your business make a positive impact on the community?

To help business startups, we offer very budget-friendly services to get them on track. Our internships are offered to local college students, many of them are so bright, they’re on to fabulous careers upon graduation. A lot of our clients are in biotech research, healthcare and public health agencies. Even though we aren't scientists or health providers, we want to remove technology obstacles so they can do their best work for the public. We also provide work opportunities to people with developmental disabilities through the non-profit Partnerships with Industry, we also volunteer at college scholarship committees to bring jobs and talents back to the local community.

What would you do with a $1,000 Sam’s Club gift card, training, and help from a SCORE mentor to grow your business?

We are planning to renovate our “Idea Room” – the room where we get together to brainstorm and collaborate, and we need additional supplies and equipment to further improve our collaboration. The $1000 Sam’s Club gift card will really help us achieve that goal! The training and mentorship from SCORE will help us further refine our strategy, evaluate new opportunities and enhance our operation. We have had long term relationship with multiple SCORE mentors, and their honest and timely advice is instrumental to our continued success. As we expand, they even offer tips on recruiting and retaining talents!

The following responses will be considered in judging for a SCORE Award.

How has working with a SCORE mentor helped your business?

My SCORE mentors have been my guiding light on this journey of entrepreneurship. As the sole owner of the company and the first in my family to attend college and start a business, there’s a lot of “first’s”. I welcome the opportunities and embrace the challenges with open arms, but there’s often a series of decision points along the way. Having experienced mentors who champion and challenge me at the same time empower me to be a better, smarter leader for my team.

Have you had to overcome any obstacles along the way to build your business?

When I started the company as a minority female immigrant in my late 20’s, there has been numerous times when customers confuse my older male engineering staff to be “the boss”. I usually shrugged it off and joked about it at the next team lunch. As I grow more wrinkles, these confusions are happening less often, though I sometimes wish to see that again! All jokes aside, starting this company with my life savings required a lot of sweat equity and conservative financial planning. Every dollar we spend represents hard-earn business from a customer who is willing to look pass the outward difference and see the true value we can bring them.

How will you utilize the marketing video and national recognition of winning a SCORE Award to help take your business to the next level?

We will be marketing our contest video across all social media channels to spread the word. By winning this SCORE Award, the national recognition will be a big encouragement to our entire team and validation to our loyal clients. It will also increase our exposure to prospects in new areas, including government customers across the United States. Our win will also be fabulous PR for our local SCORE Chapter as they market their service to other entrepreneurs and business owners.
