Business Description

EEA offers Therapeutic Riding, Equine Assisted Activities, Natural Horsemanship classes and Riding Lessons. We provide a safe, natural and knowledgeable program for kids and adults.

How does your business make a positive impact on the community?

EEA assists members of the Albuquerque community in finding peace, connection and confidence by partnering them with a horse. We focus on First Responders, Veterans, people with MS, kids and adults with disabilities and anyone with anxiety. Partnering with a horse, on the ground or on their back, releases oxytocin in the human body, allowing us to learn and bond with the horse. Our clients find that brushing a horse lowers blood pressure which allows them to be present and find connection with a 1,000 pound prey animal. At EEA we strive to improve the lives of our clients, so they can in turn provide a positive impact at home and in Albuquerque community at large.

What would you do with a $1,000 Sam’s Club gift card, training, and help from a SCORE mentor to grow your business?

This wonderful opportunity will be not be wasted here at EEA! Quite a few of our young clients are disabled and they have their family members with them. Everyone loves to watch the horses!! But what we are missing is a pleasant, shaded area for families to sit and relax while we ride. The gift card would buy some furniture and a tent canopy for my clients’ families. The SCORE mentor and training would be extremely helpful in assisting EEA in finding ways to promote the 2017 new class for First Responders as well as an inclusion summer camp for kids with and without disabilities to work together.
