Our philanthropic mission is to nurture sources of perinatal bereavement, strengthen skills of healthcare professionals and increase healthy engagement of perinatal related needs among communities.
What one unique aspect of your business will make you succeed over the next year?

The M0M Center brings tangible support to families facing miscarriage or stillbirth throughout the greater Kansas City metro area and beyond. We meet families in hospital emergency rooms or birthing suites, with our comfort support during childbirth, infant keepsake items and more. We are able to provide all of these things, including The M0M Center itself, by the funding of our online training program for healthcare professionals to gain better skills in their role as they face such patients. A stillbirth occurs every twenty minutes in the United States. We are the only organization that provides as comprehensively to the family, and to the healthcare team, and we do so, without the requirement of a financial reimbursement from the hospital or the family we serve. The one unique aspect of our business that will make us succeed over the next year is that families deserve to be supported, and people want to know how to do better, and they enroll into our training. This contest offered by Sam's Club, even if we do not win, can be a conduit to raise awareness and help families get the support that they need by learning about stillbirthday.
How does your business make a positive impact on the community?
Stillbirthday validates that a pregnancy loss is still a birth, is still a birth day, and deserves to be regarded with love, recognition and support. Here is a powerful demonstration of the multifaceted gaps in care that we provide for: http://stillbirthday.com/2012/08/31/in-twenty-minutes/
What would you do with a $1,000 Sam’s Club gift card, training, and help from a SCORE mentor to grow your business?
Through The M0M Center, our Kansas City headquarters, we offer outreach support and are accessible to every area hospital to provide personal support to patients through childbirth in stillbirth and miscarriage. Our support includes providing postpartum meals to families, and $1,000 will sustain this provision for a short time.
