Business Description

Blank Canvas Brewery is a Pico brewery in brewer Maine. Beer is a our blank canvas it's what we put into it that makes it interesting and puts our signature on it. Maine grown/produced ingredients.

What one unique aspect of your business will make you succeed over the next year?

Our creativity with beer is what sets apart from other breweries. Everyone who drinks raft beer has had an IPA a brown ale, a stout. Not everyone who drinks craft has had a Roasted Garlic Altbier, or a Salted Caramel ale, or a Dill Cucumber Pale, or a Coconut Red. We create beer. Inspiration is what drives us and the desire to show our customers something they have never experienced before. And for the last year and a half we have done exactly that. Created a singular experience for drinkers who have tried a few bees or a thousand beers. We have also invested in our local growers of beer supplies. Such as Blue Ox Malt house Maine Malt house, and numerous Maine hops growers. every beer is made with as much Maine grown ingredients as humanly possible. We are farm to glass taste of place.

How does your business make a positive impact on the community?

Our brewery is a ground up business that will grow in an organic way borrowing no money from banks in an effort to be a much more effective business model. No borrowed money means 100% of revenue generated being put back into the business to grow into a profit generating sustainable business. this will enable us to hire and pay employees a good wage. Breweries pay numerous taxes and the industry is now the highest earning industry in the state. we will all benefit from supporting this growing industry. Again we only use Maine grown hops and as much Maine grown malted Barley as our Malt houses can produce.

What would you do with a $1,000 Sam’s Club gift card, training, and help from a SCORE mentor to grow your business?

I would use the card to buy gas to fund our distribution as a small brewery in Maine we self distribute. Gas cost eats away at our revenue. Three of our accounts are in Houlton Maine and Portland Maine. We drive a great distance to reach our appreciative customers. the training would be excellent to help couch us in raising more money to continue growing and using our cash flow in the most efficient way. Perhaps helping with marketing.
